Description of Trip
Discover the perfect fusion of excitement and serenity with our “Cast & Blast” adventure in Western Wyoming, just South of Jackson Hole. Spend your nights in rustic cabin accommodations in the town of Thayne. Dump in and drift the nearby Salt River for cutthroat and brown trout, where the Salt offers great opportunities to catch trophy browns in the early and late part of the season as fish move up from Palisades Reservoir.
For a change of scenery, travel to our nearby Star Valley Camp out of Alpine. Fish the Little Greys River or opt for a more adventurous experience by hopping on a horse or hiking the 5-mile trail to Bailey Lake. Pursue nice spring trout while enjoying the solitude of the backcountry.
Bring along a rifle to hunt spring black bear. Though early spring snowstorms can slow the hunting, the bears come out hungry once they clear. The daily choices are entirely yours, allowing you to shape each day based on your desires. Join us and enjoy what spring in western Wyoming has to offer.

Outline of Trip
Outdoorsman to arrive the afternoon before the Cast and Blast will begin. Settle in to your cabin and meet up for dinner, leaving plenty of time to rest up for the following days activity. Outdoorsman can choose from fishing or bear hunting, the evening prior, so that our staff can be ready for the chosen activity the following morning. Outdoorsman to have 5 full days of fully guided fishing and/or hunting. Outdoorsman to depart the morning following the 5th full day.
Fishing Includes:
Drift boat with Guide, spinning rods and tackle, (fly rod/tackle furnished by Outdoorsman), lodging and all beverages, snacks and meals.
Bear Hunting Includes:
Transportation to and from the hunt area, horse and Guide, lodging and all beverages, snacks and meals.
Cost:
2 on 1 pricing is $5,900 per Outdoorsman.
1 on 1 is $6,900 per Outdoorsman.

Located in Alpine, WY, Star Valley Outfitters is home to one of Wyoming’s premier destinations. If you are looking to be surrounded by incredible mountain views, and enjoy a relaxing time on the water, you are at the right place! In June and July, we offer drift boat fishing on the Salt River. In August, we offer a backcountry fishing experience, where you’ll stay at our hunting camp along the Little Greys River. From there, you’ll horseback to the fishing locations and bank fish along the river. We look forward to hosting you on your next fishing adventure!
